Monaco star set for Chelsea medical next week ahead of big money move to Stamford Bridge

French radio station RMC Sport are claiming that Chelsea have struck an agreement with Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko. It’s reported that the 22-year-old, who has been one of boss Antonio Conte’s priority summer targets, will head to Stamford Bridge for a fee of £35M with the player himself signing a five-year deal.

RMC also states that the French international will arrive in London next week to undergo a medical and to discuss the final details of the agreement. His arrival is now expected to trigger the departure of Serbian Nemanja Matic who is wanted by his former mentor Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

It promises to be a busy week in West London with reports today also stating that the champions have agreed a £60M deal with Juventus for Brazilian full-back Alex Sandro. This sudden burst of activity comes off the back of last week’s reports that Conte was unhappy with the club’s support over summer transfer targets.
