Montella could be gone if Milan don't win at Sassuolo

AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella is at the risk of being axed as the rossoneri manager, if things don’t go his way during the club’s game against Sassuolo on Sunday evening.

Confidence in the Italian has never been this low, as far as the club’s owners go and Montella would have to make sure that Milan pull of a result at the Mapei Stadium, if he intends to remain the boss at San Siro.

It was previously reported that Montella snapped back at a Milan fan while he was on his way to the team bus following the rossoneri’s goalless draw against AEK Athens in the Europa League.

Out of Milan’s previous four trips to the Mapei Stadium, they have only won one and it has, in recent times, become a tough place to go for them. Montella would have to pull off a result, as he is currently on the tip of the iceberg.

Milan are currently as low as eighth in the Serie A, 12 points off fourth-placed Lazio and Montella would look to lower that gap.
