Montella speaks ahead of Napoli-Milan

Embattled AC Milan manager Vincenzo Montella spoke to the press ahead of tomorrow’s highly charged matchup against Napoli. Among the subjects he touched on was Italy’s World Cup failure, his club’s preparation for the Serie A leaders, and his captain Leo Bonucci.

“Napoli is probably the best team in Europe, but I'm convinced that Milan has the means to damage,” said the tactician on Friday afternoon. “Tactical decisions will be difficult, but we’ll have to rely on our security and aggression to gives ourselves the best chance to win.”

HIS VIEWS ON NAPOLI:
“The stakes are the same. As I said, we will have to be organized and continue for 90 minutes. Mertens? Size is overrated. Napoli now attacks the deep in opposition territory. He has been great to improve in such a short time. The most striking aspect is his willingness to sacrifice his stats for the team. This is also true for Insigne and Callejon.”

ON MILAN’S FUTURE:
“We are finding our identity, but the next matches will be complicated. We are unfortunate to meet an opponent so strong at this very moment. The owner invested so much over the summer, and we all have the goal of getting back to compete in Europe."

ON BONUCCI’S STATUS:
“He is coming back. The break saw him André Silva go to their national teams, but I'm not worried. It's all normal, I'm not worried.”
