Morata reveals the three reasons why he joined Chelsea

Chelsea star Alvaro Morata has released a long interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport revealing that he would have never left Juventus in 2016 when he was ‘forced’ to leave the Allianz Stadium due to a buy-back clause included in his contract and that Real Madrid activated.

The Spaniard, however, also confirmed he is happy at Chelsea.

“I came here for three reasons. The first one is the manager. I knew Conte and I had no problems to understand his idea of football. Second: there are many Spanish footballers here. The likes of Azpilicueta, Alonso, Fabregas and Pedro have made everything easier for me. Third: my wife Alice, she has joined me here.”

“I begun talks with Conte in Springtime and we eventually manage to wrap up a deal in the summer.”
“I like London, I live in Chelsea, close to the city centre, and I live the mixture of religions and cultures here. However I’d not live in London for too long. It’s too big, there are too much chaos and stress.”
“The most surprising team so far? Would be too easy to say Manchester City. I say Watford and my former teammate Pereyra. Roma were quite impressing as well. They deserve to win in London. But the return game will be different, we want to take a win home. Dzeko was amazing at Stamford Bridge, I’ve always respected and liked him.”
