Mourinho: star Man United defender could miss 3 months
The Ivorian star, who was signed for a massive € 38 million last summer, has not played for the Red Devils in over a month, and has now undergone surgery, according to Mourinho.
"Eric is going for surgery. He won't be out for the season but it will be two or three months,” the Special One confirmed about the first player that he ever signed as United Coach.
"During the whole season, we've had problems with central defenders but because the number is four or five, we manage always to have [players available] and Chris Smalling is playing amazingly well for seven or eight matches in a row maybe, so we are fine."
The situation is troubling, though Phil Jones and Jonathan Smalling started together against Bournemouth and did well in a tandem.
