Musacchio to AC Milan: the latest

AC Milan are looking for some defence reinforcement with Cristian Zapata, Alessio Romagnoli, Rodrigo Ely and Gabiel Paletta who are the only centre-backs left in the squad following the departures of Alex and Philippe Mexes.

Adriano Galliani is flying to Ibiza where he will meet Mateo Musacchio’s agent. The Argentinean defender is the rossoneri priority target to strengthen their defensive line in the summer and the club’s CEO wants to reach agreement with the Argentinean centre back who had already revealed his desire to wear the rossonier shirt next season during a previous meeting with Galliani.

AC Milan will also offer € 15 million to Villareal, but the rossoneri’s opening bid will definitely be rejected as the player has a release clause set to € 50 million and Villareal have just sold Musacchio’s old defence partner Bailly to Manchester United.

AC Milan want to have guarantees over the player’s physical conditions before making an improved bid for the 25-year-old defender who has been suffering several muscle injuries over the last couple of season, not to mention the fibula fracture injury sustained in April 2015.

Musacchio’s contract with Villareal runs until 2018.
