Nainggolan is back in the Belgium squad

Radja Nainggolan has been called up to Belgium’s squad again.

The Roma star had announced his retirement back in August, when Coach Roberto Martinez had not called him up for the Red Devils’ double qualifier with Gibraltar and Greece.

The Serie A star had revealed in an interview that he was “ready to scream” when he found out that he had been dropped.

Nainggolan has been called up to the friendlies with Mexico and Japan.

Roberto Martinez had revealed that he wasn’t ready to call up Nainggolan to be the fifteenth of sixteenth member of his squad.

He had also said that Nainggolan was at his best as a Number 10:

“As for Radja, he’s at his best for Roma when he plays in the number 10 role, with the freedom behind [Edin] Dzeko. We don’t really have a similar position, and when we tried it, it didn’t really work.

“His best influence is when he can burst into the box or when he can shoot from range. We tried him at 10 against Russia, against the Czech Republic and against Greece and it was never successful.
