Nantes new coach Ranieri looking to Arsenal goalkeeper

Reports out of England today via The Express have linked Nantes Italian tactician Claudio Ranieri with a definitive move for Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina. The Colombian shot stopper is expected to be entertaining offers for more playing time considering his second string duty behind Petr Cech with the Gunners. A move to France would offer more playing time, and with a World Cup year approaching this will be integral for Jose Pekerman has he attempts to qualify for the tournament in Russia next year.

It will not be the first French experience for Ospina, as he played for Nice before transferring to Arsenal in 2014. Nantes will want to upgrade their squad for their new coach, as they need to spend to compete with PSG and Monaco among other top French teams. Nantes will be looking to improve on their 7th place finish this past season in Ligue 1, and a quality goalkeeper with international experience could be the first building block for the summer transfer window.
