Napoli, Sarri blocks Witsel deal
Napoli had reportedly agreed the player’s € 25 million transfer fee with Zenit, whilst the player had accepted a salary of € 3.2 million a year. Trouble is, Sarri has blocked the player’s arrival minutes before the club announced the transfer of the Belgium International.
Sarri has informed De Laurentiis and Giuntoli that he doesn’t see Witsel as starting material and would only use him as a bit-player convincing the club that investing almost € 30 million of the Zenit star would have been a negative choice.
Napoli remain close to sign Emanuele Giaccherini from Sunderland.
