    NAPOLI v SASSUOLO 3-1 |as it happened

Serie A winter champions Napoli faced Sassuolo on Saturday evening winning 3-1 thanks to a first-half goal scored by José Maria Callejon and another brilliant brace netted by the best player in Serie A: Gonzalo Higuain.

Diego Falcinelli scored the opener from the spot after only 2' for Eusebio Di Francesco’s side who are still one of the most surprising teams of the league, sitting 6th in Serie A, only three points short of Roma after the Napoli game.

Di Francesco had to do without suspended Domenico Berardi and Paolo Cannavaro, while former Tottenham Vlaad Chiriches started alongside Raul Albiol in the heart of the Partenopei’s defense.

Lorenzo Insigne started too after being benched for the whole 90 minutes in the last away game to Frosinone.

Napoli are the runaway Serie A leaders sitting 4 points above Inter and five above Juvents who will play against Udinese tomorrow at the Friuli.
