Slovenian star's representatives arrive in England for talks with Manchester United over summer move to Old Trafford

An exclusive in the Manchester Evening News this afternoon claims that one of Manchester United’s proposed summer targets will have no problems leaving his current employers even if it means leaving them in crisis.

The player in question is Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak who is the man United want to replace David De Gea, should he decide to head back to his home city to play for Real. With Atleti’s summer transfer embargo being upheld this week, many of the clubs biggest stars have committed their futures to the club. The most high-profile of course is striker Antoine Griezmann, who has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford over the past few months.

The same cannot be said for the 24-year-old Slovenian whose representatives, the journal claims, have jetted into Manchester for talks with United chiefs about the latest situation with their current custodian.

With Chelsea, Real Madrid and PSG having also made contact, United boss Jose Mourinho does not want to be caught out should De Gea decide his future lies elsewhere. Oblak meanwhile, has an £85M release clause in his current deal in Spain and was voted Liga’s best keeper for the second year running.
