Official: Bayern Munich find Lewandowski a replacement

Bayern Munich have already made their first signing of the winter.

As the rest of Europe’s elite wonders whether Philippe Coutinho and Alexis Sanchez will move, the Bavarian club has made a move for Sandro Wagner.

The Munich native and former Bayern academy product is set to cost the Bundesliga champions 12 million, and is set to remain at the club until 2020.

The German international has been very successful at Hoffenheim. Scoring 11 Bundesliga goals last season. He is seen as someone who can help Robert Lewandowski rest.

Uli Hoeness revealed to Sport Bild that:

“It is no secret that we are looking for a backup for Robert Lewandowski. It of course also depends on how we will play against Dortmund on Wednesday. If we can stay in all three competitions beyond the winter, the pressure on our squad will be even bigger.”
