OFFICIAL: Giorgio Chielli set to miss Napoli, Bayern Munich clashes
No good news for Massimiliano Allegri as the Italian tactician will have to do without the rugged Italian central defender for the upcoming Serie A and Champions League clashes against Napoli and Bayern Munich.
Chiellini, 31, has been ruled out of action for at least 20 days with a soleus muscle strain. In turn he’s expected to come back to the pitch at the beginning of March.
Allegri decided to line-up Chiellini against Frosinone, despite the former Fiorentina defender was not in good physical conditions already.
With Martin Caceres who’s out of action for the remainder of the season and Daniele Rugani who’s considered still not ready for big games, Stephan Lichtsteiner is expected to replace Chiellini in a three-men back line.
Italy International missed Juventus’ Champions League final lost to Barcelona last term, also due to injury.
