The news item was in the air, but now it’s official: Mauro Icardi has extended his deal with Inter Milan until June 2021; added to the new contract there is a €110m release clause, valid only abroad.
On the nerazzurri official website, the Argentinean striker has commented: “As I have always said, this is what I wanted. There have been a lot of rumors, but I always wanted to stay and finally I reached an agreement with the club.”
“I am very well here, I hope to win some trophies, I know it will be difficult to do what Zanetti did”, he added. “I am grateful to my family and to my wife, who set everything as my manager.”
