Official; Klaassen completes £23.6M move to Everton
Everton boss Ronald Koeman has made his first signing of the summer with the £23.6M capture of Dutch midfielder Davy Klaassen. The 24-year-old was an essential part of Ajax’s run to the Europa League Final last season and the Toffees have always been in pole-position to grab his signature.
The player told the club’s official website that; “It is difficult to leave Ajax but I think this is a good step for me now”, as he penned a five-year deal at Goodison Park. His new boss was obviously delighted to have got his man and he stated that; “He is a player who is only 24 but has a lot of experience and is a leader on the pitch. He has already captained Ajax for two seasons and that shows you the type of person he is. He is hardworking, likes to press and, of course, will give us more creativity and goals."
