Official: Real Madrid extend wonderkid, has €700m release clause
The young sensation now has a massive €700 million release clause, which should keep the numerous clubs who are interested in him - including Arsenal, Liverpool and Roma - off his back.
This news comes mere hours after Rafael Varane prolonged his own deal until 2022. Asensio is the seventh Real Madrid player to renew his deal in the last two weeks.
He will sign his deal officially tomorrow, with Florentino Perez present.
Asensio holds a unique record, that of scoring on his Liga, Copa del Rey, Champions League, Super Cup and European Super Cup debuts. He notoriously netted the last goal in Real Madrid’s 4-1 humbling of Juventus in Cardiff last season.
Asensio has been starting of late for the Merengues, and is being touted by many as being the future star of Spanish football.
