Onazi called a 'sh***y n*****r' by Lazio 'fan' after Sparta humiliation

As Forrest Gump liked to repeat: "stupid is as stupid does, ma'am". Well, this certainly applies to a particular Lazio 'fan' who subjected midfielder Ogenyi Onazi to a torrent of racist abuse, calling him a 'n*****r' outside the Stadio Olimpico last night.

The Biancocelesti had just gone down with all hands in a 3-0 loss to Sparta Prague in Europa League action. To rub salt in the wound, this happened both at home and after a 1-1 draw in the first leg.

The Nigerian midfielder gave his version of these reprehensible actions on social media:

"A video was published tonight online in which I am seen arguing with someone outside the stadium. I refuse to call him a 'fan', and you'll soon understand why. This person got angry with me over the game: all fans have the undeniable right to complain to us players".

"I didn't answer him, but at one stage he yelled that I was a
    'sh***y n*****r'. I lost it".

"My skin is black, so what? Racism is disgusting, and always is, in any context. Lazio fans have treated me really well over the years. The real fans, that is."

Onazi had previously claimed that the racist chants directed at Napoli opponent Kalidou Koulibaly from Lazio Ultras hadn't been racist. Now, he finds himself on the receiving end of exactly the same kind of abuse.

"I'm black, and I'm proud. Forza Lazio".
