PAPER TALK: Berlusconi puts AC Milan takeover on hold. Berardi set for Juve medical. Chelsea meet Kante’s release clause

Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Silvio Berlusconi is still not sure to sell a majority share in the club to a Chinese consortium that, however, has already presented all the economic guarantees requested by the demanding AC Milan owner.

Berlusconi’s unpredictable humour is definitely not helping negotiations, though all parties have confirmed that there are no problems between them and that negotiations are ongoing.

On the one hand Suning’s announcement of Inter takeover could finally convince Berlusconi that he can’t cope with managing AC Milan on his own anymore, convincing him to speed up talks and close the deal as soon as possible. On the other hand, Italy’s local elections may force him to ask Chinese suitors for more time before completing the club’s takeover.

Still according to the Italian paper, Domenico Berardi will undergo medical with Juventus before the week-end and his signing will be announced at the beginning of next week (probably next Monday), whilst Dani Alves is ready to pen a new two-year-deal with the Old Lady. His salary will be around € 3.5 million a year plus bonuses.

Berardi will move to Juventus for € 25 million, though the Old Lady is still trying to lower the player's release fee adding a couple of their youngsters in a player-plus-cash swap deal.
