Paper Talk: Higuain’s non-celebration makes headlines, Sarri tells Insigne to shut up

All Italian papers’ headlines are focused on Gonzalo Higuain’s non celebration against Napoli. The Pipita netted the winner in yesterday night’s direct meeting against his old team and decided not to celebrate after his goal.

Gonzalo Higuain, 28, spent three seasons at Napoli scoring 91 goals in 146 games with the partenopei before moving to Juventus in a Serie A record € 90 million transfer.

Although Leonardo Bonucci had suggested his new teammate to celebrate, should he had netted a goal against Napoli, Higuain still decided not to do so, when he put past Pepe Reina the decisive goal of the game which allow Juventus to move seven points clear of Napoli in the table.

The Old Lady’s opponents found the equalizer thanks to a surgical finish by Jose Maria Callejon who made the most of an amazing assist by his teammate Lorenzo Insigne.

The Italian winger was replaced a few minutes after and did not take Maurizio Sarri’s decision very well. Talking to media in a post-match press conference after the game, Sarri said:

“Insigne has to shut up. When he put down disappointing performances I don’t complain in front of everyone. If he has something to tell me, he can do it the following day in the dressing room. Before I replaced him, he lost the balls three times, failing to chase his opponent to win the ball back. To me, that’s a clear sign that he is tired.”
