Paper Talk: Inter to beat AC Milan to signing of starlet, Chelsea target can leave Roma for €30m

No rest for football fans in the summer with papers full of transfer news and speculations. Calciomercato.com exclusively reported yesterday that Inter had pounced on Genoa starlet Pietro Pellegri, 17, who has already netted his first goal in Serie A. The promising striker is contracted with Genoa but according to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport Inter are set to beat their city rivals to signing the talented hit-man.

Inter are ready to pay € 12 million and keep the player on loan at Genoa for the next two seasons. Il Grifone would rather prefer to cash in € 15 million but their president Preziosi is tempted to accept the offer of the nerazzurri.

AC Milan had offered € 5 million plus bonus and, as of today, they are considering matching Inter’s offer.

Meantime, the Italian paper also claims that AS Roma are open to the sale of Chelsea target Kostas Manolas. The Greece International is also wanted by Zenit St. Petersburg whose manager Roberto Mancini has already offered the talented defender a salary in the region of € 3.5 million-a-year.

AS Roma’s defensive depth would allow the giallorossi to sell Manolas registering a huge capital gain. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Manolas can leave the Italian capital for an offer exceeding € 30 million. The giallorossi are reported to have already found a replacement for the former Olympiakos star: Mauricio Lemos (21, Las Palmas) and Juan Foyth (19, Estudiantes).
