Pescara awarded 3-0 win against Sassuolo, new Serie A table

Pescara have been awarded their last Serie A clash against Sassuolo which Massimo Oddo’s side had lost for 2-1 at the Mapei Stadium on Sunday night.

The sports court allowed the Dolphins’ 3-0 win over the neroverdi because Sassuolo inserted Antonino Ragusa in their squad list, despite the player had not been officially signed by Eusebio Di Francesco’s side yet.

Sassuolo registered Ragusa’s contract after his inclusion in the squad for the Pescara clash, though the neroverdi chiefs claim that they had regularly replaced a previous member of the squad with their new signing, informing the Lega Calcio through an e-mail.

Trouble is, Lega Calcio have never received the e-mail and the sports court has decided to take three points off Sassuolo and award it to Pescara that have now four points in the table, one more than Sassuolo that will face Juventus at the J Stadium after the international break.
