Piatek scores in front of Barcelona eyes and overtakes Ronaldo

Krzystof Piatek started off the season like a comet in Serie A after arriving at Genoa from Cracovia last summer and scored in the 7 first rounds of the league. The Polish international then went on a streak of 5 matches without scoring but came back to the scoresheet in the derby against Sampdoria yesterday, with Barcelona observers keeping a close eye and scouting the attacker.

With a penalty goal at the Luigi Ferraris, Piatek scored his 10th goal of the season. The 23-year-old has scored a goal per 111 minutes played in the Italian league this season and has now overtaken Cristiano Ronaldo in the top scorer race. The Portuguese striker has scored 9 goals this season, adding also 5 assists to his tally.

It has been an incredible start of the season for Piatek, who was unknown to the world of football until September. But now, the whole football world knows his name, he has made his first appearance for Poland and also scored his first goal.

As a result of the fantastic performances, various big clubs have expressed interest in the services of the player, out of which Barcelona seem to be the team most keen to replace Luis Suarez at the Nou Camp. For now, Barcelona are observing the player and will look to make a decisive move if he convinces the Blaugrana to do so.
