Despite archiving their attempts to land Rodrigo Bentancur, Milan has not given up on possibly bringing the player to Serie A. The rossoneri have been in battle with Juventus (who have an option on the player until 2017) to sign the 19-year-old Uruguayan midfielder but after reports this week that he will stay at Boca Juniors for another season, club President Daniel Angelici told Radio la Red that; “Yes, it’s true, Bentancur will stay with us this year", before adding that; “Milan made a substantial offer for him but we have refused. Juventus has the possibility to buy 50% of the player before April 2017”.  

The bianconeri inserted the “Gentleman’s Agreement” last summer when Carlos Tevez returned to his boyhood club. Buy paying €1 million before the end of the year; Juve will remain in pole-position to take Bentancur in April 2017 for another €9.4 million.
