Real, Barca chase 'tripled in value' Juve midfielder

Spain’s top two teams are competing for Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, according to the latest reports from Spain.

Having joined Juventus this summer as part of the deal which saw Carlos Tevez move to Boca Juniors in 2015, the Uruguayan moved to Turin this year for €10.5 million.

Though the 20-year-old has shown some promise, he has only started three games this season, yet the speculation in Spain is that his price has already “tripled” and that both Real Madrid and Barcelona want him.

Bentancur is seen as an all-purpose midfielder, and one for the future. It’ll be hard to break through in Turin, seeing as the likes of Miralem Pjanic and Blaise Matuidi are competing with him, as well as a recovering Claudio Marchisio.

Could he be interested in making a move for a bigger club? CalcioNews24 confirm that the former Boca player has been chased by the likes of Real Madrid before he went to Turin, and that Barcelona were interested in the “character” he showed when the Bianconeri beat Barca 3-0.
