Real Madrid: Brazilian starlet speaks about upcoming move

Over the summer, Real Madrid plopped down €45 million for the right to bring teenage Brazilian forward Vicinius Junior to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2019. The remarkable arrangement is a testament to the talent the Flamengo gem possesses.

Recently, the 17-year-old opened up about his arrangement and future move to Real Madrid. Speaking to Globoesporte, Vicinius was asked about leaving Brazil at such a young age. “I'm quite relaxed about it, I'm not really thinking too much about the moment when I'll leave just yet. It will another year until I know when I will be leaving. In the meantime, I'm enjoying my time here with Flamengo, enjoying where we are in the table and all of the new things I'm learning.”

Responding to a question about his contacts with Madrid manager Zidane, the precocious teen said, “No I haven't spoken to Zidane. I talk to Marcelo, Casemiro and Danilo. Whenever I have a good game, Marcelo sends me a text message. I'm in contact with them quite a lot”.

He also says he hasn’t yet heard from Cristiano yet, but is looking forward to doing so.
