    Even if Portuguese centre-back Pepe is a cornerstone of Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid, his contract expires in June 2017 and the player’s agent is pushing to get a contract extension which would be more than deserved given Pepe’s vital importance in the Merengues’ Champions League victories in 2014 and 2016.


    Pepe has 316 appearances with Real Madrid. The 33-year-old defender joined the Santiago Bernabeu side from Porto in a € 30 million deal back in 2007.
