Real Madrid willing to sell €60m defender to Man United

Manchester United are set to splash out at the back again, if Diario Gol are to be believed.

The Spanish outlet believes that Manchester United want Raphael Varane of Real Madrid.

The Red Devils have had some problems at the back, with Phil Jones and Chris Smalling never long-term solutions, and new arrivals Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof still not the consistent players that the Mancunians need. Though the Swede has played well in recent times, United sound like they’re still shopping.

Even better, Diario Gol claim that Real supremo Florentino Perez is willing to sell one of his star defenders for €60 million in the summer.

It hasn’t been the best year for the Merengues at the back: they have tended to concede often and early, letting in 29 goals in 27 Liga games all season.

Real Madrid have only kept three clean sheets in 2018, and two of those came in the Copa del Rey, hardly much of an improvement.
