Report: Atletico do not have €45m agreement for Man United, City target

Fabinho isn’t set to move to Atletico Madrid, according to L’Equipe.

The last few days have been intense in the race for the Brazilian international, who has also found his way onto Manchester United and Man City’s radars, his father revealing that they had a ‘soft spot’ for the latter club.

Recent reports indicated that Fabinho was headed to Atletico Madrid for €45 million.

The idea was that Monaco didn’t want to sell to PSG, the team they beat to the Ligue 1 title last season. Not wishing to sell to a rival, Monaco would have accepted a move to a foreign club.

Fabinho has some doubts about the move himself, since he would only be able to move to Atletico in January, which would exclude him from the knockout phase of the Champions League.

Moreover, Monaco have further doubts about dumping players, as they want to persuade Kylian M’Bappe to stay, and the 18-year-old would want a strong team around him.
