Revealed - Arsenal's £165M summer war-chest - Here's the principle targets

The Mirror has reported that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been rewarded for signing a two-year extension at the club by getting a £165M transfer kitty to do some serious summer shopping. The Frenchman has been charged with reinvigorating the club ahead of an assault on the Premier League title next year and the journal believes that it knows his four principle targets.

Having already reportedly tabled an £87M bid for French striking sensation Kylian Mbappe, Wenger is also believed to be in the hunt for Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette. The 26-year-old Frenchman was set to join Atletico Madrid this summer but FIFA’s decision to uphold their transfer embargo has changed the situation quite dramatically. With Antoine Griezmann now seemingly staying put in the Spanish capital, Lacazette’s future lies elsewhere and having already been linked with the player last year, Wenger is ready for a fresh attack.

Leicester City play-maker Riyad Mahrez (26) has stipulated he wants to leave the King Power Stadium and The Gunners are once again in the hunt. The fact that they don’t have Champions League football however, could prove a deterrent with Chelsea also being linked with the Algerian international.

Finally, there’s Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan; the 30-year-old Turkish international is surplus to requirements under new boss Ernesto Valverde and reports from his homeland last week suggested that The Gunners were close to sealing a summer move for the player
