Manchester United have now officially confirmed the signing of Benfica defender Victor Lindelof as he is their first new signing of the summer. United did not state how much the deal cost them but they likely dished out close to 40 million euros for the big Swedish defender. Lindelof will now have to undergo his medicals with the club and then United will be able to officially confirm the deal.

Manchester City had already signed Ederson (for 40 million euros) and Bernardo Silva (for 80 million euros) as this is United's first response to their eternal rivals. Up next, Mourinho's club will likely close a deal for Alvaro Morata as the agreements are in place. The Spanish striker was very high on United's wish-list as he will come in to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

According to the Record, Lindelof will undergo his medicals with Manchester United on Wednesday. The summer is still early as United are now on the board....
