    REVEALED! Italian FA will promulgate Financial Fair Play rules for Serie A clubs

    Italian FA have already written a financial fair play rule for Serie A clubs which will become effective from the 2018-2019 campaign , Tuttosport claims.

    New rules will be imposed to prevent the build-up of unsustainable debt. Starting from next season, measures and sanctions will be taken on all clubs with unbalanced books .

    The Turinese newspaper claims the Italian FA will also check the financial health of each Serie A clubs on a regular basis and from the next season those clubs not in line with regulations could face sanctions like heavy fines and transfer bans.

    There will be stricter rules in terms of payments of debts to affiliate clubs and foreign football associations as well as on payment of salary (including payouts) to players and staff. Clubs will also have to comply with more stringent parameters of liquidity indicators, debt and labor costs.

    The gap between spending and revenues should not exceed 1.75 and at the moment there are ten clubs which are not respecting the liquidity indicator rules, including Inter, Milan AS Roma, Genoa and Lazio .

    As we mentioned above, they do not risk to be sanctioned during this campaign, but they will from next season, while from the 2018-19 campaign punishments will become more severe as clubs could also run the risk of being excluded from the league.
