Revealed: agent fees for Pogba and Dybala

In today's football market, a key role is increasingly played by agents and intermediaries. So much so that a large portion of the top clubs’ budget is set aside to be allocated to third parties. Large commission payments have begun to affect the buying of football players and the negotiations for renewals. They are factored in with the individual salaries to be paid to the athletes at the center of the transactions.

We took a look at Juventus’ budget, which can be analyzed transparently because the team published  them within the "Annual Financial Report". It shows payouts of tens of millions of euros for only the 2016/2017 season. You begin to understand how much the various FIFA agents are making, especially at high levels.

The sum of the various negotiating, transfer, and renewal deals saw Juventus pay almost 36 million euros over the course of the 2016-17 season  (€35,975,000!).

For example, the sale of Pogba to Manchester United earned superagent Mino Raiola more than 26 million. Similarly, the sale of Marko Pjaca , which saw Juve beat out Milan, Inter and Borussia Dortmund, also led to payouts to the Croatian agents of 5.4 million euros. In addition, considerable impacts on the Bianconero budget came in the form of purchases of Higuain (about €3 million) and Pjanic (almost €2 million).

There are also other collateral situations, such as those for yearly payments of € 1.3 million to Sami Khedira's agents, and another €800,000 to Nicole Higuain,  as well as € 750,000 to Triulzi for Paulo Dybala’s signature.
