Riccardo Montolivo’s injury leaves AC Milan short of midfield options

Sinisa Mihajlovic is running short of midfield options after Riccardo Montolivo’s injury. The Italy International picked up a muscle injury during last weekend’s clash against Atalanta and even if his recovery time remains uncertain, there are only little chances to see Montolivo on the pitch against Juventus in four days time.

Mihajlovic sent the team to boots camp for an undetermined period of time after the Rossoneri’s 2-1 defeat at the Atleti Azzurri d’Italia, making each player, especially the foreign ones, totally unhappy, to say the least.

The Serbian tactician however, has other problems to solve rather than his players’ complains.
Riccardo Montolivo is injured as well as Juraj Kucka, while Andrea Bertolacci will serve a one-match ban against the Old Lady.

So, who can replace the Rossoneri’s regular starters in the middle of the pitch?

Andrea Poli is in pole position to start the San Siro showdown against the Old Lady, whilst José Mauri who scored the winner in Juventus’ 1-0 defeat against Parma last season is not likely to make his Serie A debut with the Rossoneri from the first minute and the youngster Manuel Locatelli is unproven at senior level.
