Roberto Baggio names his possible heir and you’ll never guess who he is

Italy legend Roberto Baggio does not release many interviews but when he does so, he always makes headlines.

Talking to Il Corriere della Sera, Italy’s most iconic no. 10 has shared his thoughts on modern football and has named his potential heir.

“I watch many games, especially of South American football. I support Boca Juniors and I really like Centurion although he needs to improve off the pitch. If I were playing football now, I would have played for much longer. During my times it was even hard to stop the ball before an opponent’s foul. Sometimes you couldn’t even realize who had hit you. Today one can be sent off after his first foul.”

"I don’t know how much I would cost today. I will be playing as trequartista or support striker I guess, close to a classic centre forward.”

“Maldini is the best defender I’ve ever faced. When he was standing in front of me I knew I couldn’t dribble him. He was massive and he was mentally strong, he had no weak points, you’d need to put 15 players together to make one Maldini.”
