Roma chasing PSG outcast Jesè: the proposal

A fantastic win in Sundays Derby della Capitale and now Roma coach Luciano Spalletti wants to prove that his Roma side are the real title challengers to Juventus. The Tuscan tactician knows he still needs January reinforcements and new Sporting Director Federic Massara has been tasked with bringing in an immediate replacement for Egyptian striker Mo Salah, who is away on Africa Cup of Nations duty in the new year.

Cast your mind back 12 months and the arrivals of Perotti and El Shaarawy turned the giallorossi’s season around and now the player that they hope can do the same, is Jese, currently at Paris Saint-Germain. The 23-year-old has found space hard to come by in the French capital with new coach Emery only granting him 261 minutes of first-team action so far this season. The player is believed to be already thinking about packing his suitcases and as we reported on Calciomercato.com,  Roma are hoping they can tempt him to the Eternal City.

The Spaniard arrived in Paris in the summer for a fee of €25 million and a contract until 2021. The idea of the giallorossi is to take the player on an initial loan-deal for around €4 million with a right to purchase outright next summer for a further €22 million. Jese’s entourage are in favour of the switch but now they have to sit down with PSG executives to try to find an amicable solution. Club President Nasser Al-Khelaifa is not thought to be keen on such an arrangement the Italian side are hopeful that the players desire to leave will tip the balance in their favour.
