Roma-Chelsea: the tops and flops of the first half

Roma are two goals up at half time in their UEFA Champions league fixture against Conte's Chelsea at the stadio Olimpico in Rome thanks to two great EL Shaarawy goals. The ex-Milan player scored after only 1 minute as he perfectly placed his long ranged shot into the corner of the Chelsea net. He then gave the gialorossi a two goal advantage before half-time thanks to a cool finish.

Here are the tops and flops of this first half between Roma and Chelsea.

TOPS

Stephan El Shaarawy: What more to say? He scored two great goals as he is in great shape of late. Roma now have a nice lead going into the second half because of him.

Radja Nainggolan: Chelsea had been after him in the past as Nainggolan is showing Chelsea all of his worth. Good efficient game so far by the "ninja" as he also provided an assist on El Shaarawy's second goal of the game.

Fazio: He had been often criticized for not being good enough but he has been much better of late. Solid first half for him as he kept Chelsea's attacks at bay.

FLOPS

Gary Cahill: Chelsea did not play a good first half as the entire backline looked shaky. Cahill did not have a good first half as he was often beat by Roma players.

Marcos Alonso: Like the rest of Chelsea's backline, Alonso wasn't very good in this first half as he will have to do better both defensively and offensively in the second half.

Alvaro Morata: Everyone is expecting a lot from him as he yet again missed a few grade A chances. Chelsea need his goals...
