Roma considering a move for Sampdoria's Colombian striker

There is a new name for the Roma attack. According to Corriere dello Sport, Luis Muriel is being considered for the capital club’s front line. The Sampdoria striker has also recently been linked with moves to Lazio and Zenit St. Petersburg. For new coach Eusebio Di Francesco, it could be a whole new world to have the ability to entertain the market with a broader vision. New players could mean more versatility and multiple formations, and for this reason perhaps Di Francesco will want to test the summer market waters to see what comes to the surface.

Luis Muriel has paid his dues over the past, having worked his way through numerous loan deals before finally being purchased outright by Sampdoria last summer after a successful season. The 26 year old Colombian scored 11 goals and notched 9 assists for the Blucerchiati, and he looked to be finding his partnership with Quagliarella in attack quite fruitful. A move to Roma would definitely be a step up for Muriel, but the will of the player and guarantees regarding playing time are also to be considered.
