Roma eager to extend Kolarov’s contract

Italian Serie A giants AS Roma are eager to extend the contract of veteran left-back Aleksandar Kolarov, as per La Gazzetta dello Sport cited by Calciomercato.it.

The 33-year-old is in the final year of his contract with the Rome-based club and can begin negotiations with other club directly in January if no contract extension is agreed by then.

However, as per the latest development, the Giallorossi leadership appreciate the work done by the former Manchester City full-back—both on and off the field—and therefore, are eager to offer him one or two year contract extension.

The Serbia international has been at the club since 2017 when he joined them from the Manchester-based club for a reported fee of just €5 million.

Since then, Kolarov—who is now the captain of Roma—has been an integral part at the club and has represented La Magica in 75 league matches where he has scored 13 goals as well.
