As revealed by Goal.com, André Villas-Boas had a private meeting with Roma director Franco Baldini just before receiving the axe from Roman Abramovich.

According to their reports, Baldini checked the Portuguese’s availability for the future considering that Luis Enrique may leave the Giallorossi in the summer.

“We did go for dinner and I soon had sympathy for him, but Villas-Boas was too expensive,” confessed the Giallorossi director.

Last summer, Chelsea paid over €15M to Porto in order to secure the services of the 34-year-old manager.

Petric-Napoli: Hamburg officially announced that Croatian striker Mladen Petric will leave them in the summer. Director Frank Arnesen made it clear that the former Basel and Borussia Dortmund striker will not renew his expiring contract. Napoli are reportedly interested in his services, and Petric could become the backup for Cavani.

    Udinese keep Muriel & Cuadrado

Udinese have no intention of selling wonderkids Luis Muriel and Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, who have been linked to Barcelona and many other top European clubs.

The Colombians will move back to Udine at the end of the current season and both have been impressive at Lecce.

“Muriel is really talented and we are happy about his developments,” Udinese director Fabrizio Larini told Radio Crc.

“Both Muriel and Cuadrado are the future of Udinese,”

In the meantime, Ahmed Benatia has been linked to several clubs including Napoli.

“I don’t want to talk about the transfer market now, our main target is to do well in both Serie A and Europa League and I fear rumours may distract our player,” concluded Larini.

Genoa on Galloppa: The Parma ace could be the latest addition to the Rossoblu’s midfield. Reports from Marassi, reveal that President Enrico Preziosi has been following the Roman midfielder closely and could make a bid in the next months. Genoa have already signed Tozser and Rosado ahead of the new season.
