Roma join Arsenal by bidding €33m for EPL star

AS Roma have made a stunning €33 million bid for Riyad Mahrez, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The Arsenal target has repeatedly let it be known that he wants to leave Leicester City, prompting Coach Craig Shakespeare to promise to talk to him.

The Giallorossi sold Mohamed Salah to Liverpool last month, and look like they’re going to sell either Kostas Manolas or Radja Nainggolan, too.

The scorer of ten goals in all competitions and provider of five assists, the Algerian international has been linked to Arsenal, but the Foxes reportedly want 56m for the 26-year-old.

Leicester City have already rejected an Arsenal offer in the region of 34m.

Arsenal are looking for a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who has been linked to Manchester City, among many other clubs.

The Foxes have already made it clear through their manager that they will bench Mahrez if he continues to lobby to leave.

‘If he's selected he has to perform and if he doesn't show commitment he won't play,” Shakespeare recently stated.

“He's got a contract with us so he has to understand that.
