Roma: Monchi tells Inter ‘star defender not for sale’ and issues ultimatum to Liverpool

Roma DS Monchi briefly talked to media on Wednesday afternoon, ahead of Eusebio di Francesco’s first press conference as Roma coach.

The giallorossi Director of Sport was asked some transfer updates regarding Antonio Rudiger and Mohammed Salah, two of the most wanted Roma stars at the moment.

The German is being linked with a summer move to Inter with the nerazzurri who are reported to have already reached an agreement with their Serie A rivals. Monchi, however, did only deny that no agreement has been reached but confirmed that the player won’t be leaving the Olimpico in the summer.

“Rudiger won’t be leaving Roma in the summer”, Monchi told assembled media.
The giallorossi, however, need to cash in at least € 30 million by the end of the month in order to respect the FFP and Mohammed Salah could be the player leaving the Olimpico to allow his club to get a fresh cash injection.

Liverpool and Roma have yet to agree the player’s transfer fee although the Egyptian is pushing for a move to Anfield Road.

“We decide the price-tag of the player”, Monchi warned Liverpool with the giallorossi who have slapped a € 40 million price-tag on the former Chelsea flop.
