Manchester City’s Danilo revealed that he’d welcome the opportunity to play with his former rival Lionel Messi. The defender used to matchup against the Barcelona maestro during his days with Real Madrid. Now, it seems, he wants to enjoy Messi’s exploits instead of being victimized by them.

 

Though he played with Cristiano Ronaldo, Danilo considers Messi to be, “the best”. Speaking to Marca, Danilo said, “We have a very good squad, but everything can improve. Messi is a top player. Of course I would play with him, he is the best."

 

Though rumors of Messi joining Manchester City have been thrown around for years, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu, said that Messi has already signed a new contract and is already playing under it.

 

Danilo added: "The truth is that I miss Madrid. I spent two incredible years winning important things and people have always treated me very well, but you have to turn a page."
