Sampdoria confirm Inter have 'almost' signed €30m defender

Inter are very close to signing Milak Skriniar, according to the latest statements made by Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero.

The young Slovak defender is set to move to Inter, something Ferrero claimed was “all but done”. He is valued at around €30 million.

The two sides met at lunchtime in Milan today to finalize the deal for Skriniar, who has played 38 Serie A games with Sampdoria since he joined two seasons ago.

“It’s almost done,” he told Radio CRC, “I won’t talk about fees. Muriel, on the other hand, isn’t going to Lazio. It’s not true. I don’t know where he will go, but not there, it’s a journalistic invention.”

Skriniar was rumoured to be part of a swap deal including Gianluca Caprari, and Ferrero duly confirmed that the Blucerchiati had ‘signed him’.

Caprari was loaned out to Pescara last season, where he scored nine goals and made four assists.

Sky claim that Inter academy product Fabio Eguelfi, a full-back, will be loaned to Samp, with the right to buy him.
