Sampdoria are accelerating in the race to sign 26-year-old Argentinian midfielder Emiliano Rigoni before the transfer window closes next week. The agreement between the Ligurian club and Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg is for a loan with an obligation to buy when certain conditions are met is nearing completion, with the total deal being worth €11m. New manager Eusebio Di Francesco is keen to acquire the player in order to strengthen the club’s midfield.
