Liverpool eye up Foxes ace for January

Liverpool continued to be linked to goalkeepers and Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel is the latest name to be the subject of a move to Anfield.

According to The Sun, the 30-year-old is now the man Jurgen Klopp sees as the perfect choice to be the club’s number one custodian. With both Simon Mignolet and Lorius Karius failing to convince the German tactician, Schmeichel, who recently signed a new four-year deal at the King Power Stadium, is believed to be the subject of a £20 million switch in January.

The son of former Manchester United legend Peter, Kasper Schmeichel’s outstanding form last season was a major factor in Leicester City’s surprise Premier League title win and Klopp believes that at 30, he is now at the peak of his powers and has a good three/four years left at the very top level.

The journal also claims that the Merseyside giants also made enquiries in the summer but that any deal in January would only happen if the Reds submitted a substantial offer.
