Scouting Report: Chelsea advised to sign the "New Drogba"

One of Chelsea’s most famous ever players has now recommended a new striking talent to the Premier League champions. According to The Sun, Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba has told his former club to take a punt on fellow Ivorian Ballou Jean-Yves Tabla.

Drogba worked with the 18-year-old during his time at Montreal Impact and immediately reported his finding to the West London club. Tabla has even been hailed as the “New Drogba” after some scintillating performances for the MLS outfit and he scored on his first-team debut for the club back in April.

Having been born in the Ivory Coast, Tabla grew up in Canada and is illegible to play for both countries. It’s reported however, that he will pledge his allegiance to his birthplace to follow in the footsteps of the great man himself.

With his current deal set to expire in December 2018, ESPN claims that Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg are also monitoring the situation and could be ready to make their own move for the teenager who made 17 first-team appearances for The Impact last term.
