Serie A clubs are the second-biggest spenders in Europe

Serie A looks to be making some progress, if all the money spent mostly by Inter, Juventus and Napoli counts for the rest of the league.

Osservatorio Calcio Italiano’s recent analysis (based on transfermarkt.it’s data) claim that Italy was the second biggest spender in the summer window, its €711.34 million second only to the Premier League. Serie A was the first in terms of income, however, with Paul Pogba’s monster move to Manchester United a big part of Serie A’s €677.42m.

The league’s total losses of €33.92m are down 20% from the previous season.
