Serie A Matchday 17: Top 5 performances of the weekend
There were many solid performances this past week as all eyes were on the Juventus Stadium as Juve beat second placed Roma by a 1-0 score. Milan drew Atalanta, Inter beat Sassuolo and Napoli beat Torino thanks to a superb game from Dries Mertens.
Here is our list of the top 5 performances of Matchday 17 (Via Whoscored) :
5- Luca Rossettini : Napoli vs Torino : Whoscored rating: 8.8
It was a difficult game for Torino as they lost 5-3 against Napoli but Rossettini had a pretty good game for himself. He scored one of Torino's goals and ended the game with two goaline clearances.
4- Riccardo Meggiorini : Chievo vs Sampdoria : Whoscored rating : 8.8
Meggiorini was a constant menace for Chievo as he finished the game with one goal.
3- Giovanni Simeone: Genoa vs Palermo : Whoscored rating : 8.8
Another game goes by and Simeone keeps scoring goals for Genoa. Tonight, he scored 2 goals and added an assist in a 4-3 home defeat to Palermo.
2- José Callejon: Napoli vs Torino : Whoscored rating: 9.1
Napoli had an excellent offensive game as Callejon was solid all game long. He assisted 3 out of the 5 Napoli goals as he had a very good game.
1- Dries Mertens : Napoli vs Torino : Whoscored rating: 10
This was an easy choice as Mertens scored an incredible 4 goals to give Napoli a crucial win. All of his goals were nice but his 4th one was the best as he beat Torino keeper Joe Hart with a Panenka goal. He is our performer of the week.
