Serie B shaping up for another wild weekend

Serie B shaping up for another wild weekend

  • Matthew Klimberg
The most exciting soccer league in Europe continues to be Serie B. Once again, the Italian second division is set to have a new leader when Saturday’s matches are completed.

On Friday night, leaders Palermo played to a 2-2 draw against Pescara, and now sit only two points above three teams tied for second place, and three points above two. With Empoli, Frosinone, Parma, Bari, and Salernitana all still yet to play this weekend, it’s likely we’ll see a new name at the top of Serie B as soon as tonight!

Six teams sit less than three points out of the six promotion playoff spots. Last place Pro Vercelli is now only 12 points behind Palermo, and are still within striking distance of promotion. They take on Novara, who are only one point out of the playoffs, but tied with two others.

With eight games on the slate today, it’s guaranteed the table tonight will look nothing like it does right now.
