Sousa to replace Cannavaro, not going to Milan

Sousa to replace Cannavaro, not going to Milan

It is not yet official but, as Gianluca Di Marzio reports, Fiorentina's former manager Paulo Sousa is one step away from moving to China and becoming the next Tianjin Quanjian trainer . Therefore, it appears AC Milan is not a future landing spot for the Portuguese coach.

In recent weeks Sousa has been contacted by the Rossoneri leadership to inquire about him possibly replacing embattled manager Vincenzo Montella. However, it appears his agent is in China to hammer out the final details of the deal with the Chinese club.

Paulo Sousa, if the deal becomes official, will take over Italian legend Fabio Cannavaro's role with the club. Under the former Italian national team captain, the club finished fourth in the Chinese Super League last year. It appears Cannavaro is ready to return to the bench as head of Guangzhou Evergrande (where he began his coaching career). The bench has recently been vacated by Brazilian Felipe Scolari.
